Problem
I am using DHCP which means I get a different IP address every time I connect to the network. Is there an option that determines my current IP address so it can be sent along with the X-window command?
Answer

Solution: The XStartup facility (RSH/REXEC) understands the following macrosubstitutions:
- $(LOCALDISPLAY) - f.example:"/usr/local/X11/bin/xterm -d $(LOCALDISPLAY)";
- $(LOCALHOST) - f.example:"/usr/local/X11/bin/xterm -d $(LOCALHOST):0";
- $(LOCALIP) - f.example:"/usr/local/X11/bin/xterm -d $(LOCALIP):0";
In your case, you must use $(LOCALIP) macrosubstitution.
